Day 1: Travel by car from Dar es Salaam to Saadani National Park passing local villages en route. After a journey of about 4 hours (half of which is inside the park), you shall cross the Wami River into Saadani and your safari will begin. Alternatively fly just 15 minutes from Zanzibar on a daily schedule flight to Saadani National Park. Transfer to Simply Saadani Camp (L,D)
Days 2-4: Relax at the beautiful and natural Simply Saadani Camp. The lovely coast line with its palm-fringed beach creates an image of a forgotten paradise, unique because of bordering Saadani national park, the only coastal wildlife preserve in the whole of East Africa. Here you can relax at the beach, swim in the Indian Ocean, walk for miles, undisturbed, or choose to take a safari which could be on foot, by boat or by 4 x 4. You can even visit the Madete Marine Park which forms part of the national park and be fortunate enough to witness endangered green turtles hatching from their nests and heading out to sea. From your room terrace each morning facing the Indian Ocean, watch a few local fisherman in their traditional dhows bringing in their catch of the day.
At the camp, you can walk one of several nature trails to enjoy the beautiful birdlife or take a boat out to a nearby sandbar for snorkelling in crystal-clear water. In the late afternoon, meander down the local Mafui creek on a traditional canoe which is a relaxing way to end the day. (B,L,D)
Day 5: After breakfast, say goodbye to Simply Saadani as you leave by car back to Dar es Salaam to connect with your international flight home or onward journey. Alternatively, you can take a short flight on the daily schedule from Saadani to Zanzibar which is a short 20 minute flight. (B)View All Tours
