Day 1: Starting at Kilimanjaro international airport, the tour heads out to the foot of the greatest mountain in Africa, and a remote, beautiful area called West Kilimanjaro. Arrival and orientation at the delightful Kambi ya Tembo basewill precede a spectacular sundowner drink under Mount Kilimanjaro. Overnight at Kambi ya Tembo (B,L,D).
Day 2: An early morning foot safari in the Sinya concession will hopefully provide some wonderful photo opportunities from herding Maasai, wildebeest and Zebra, to mighty bull elephants, all beneath the Kilimanjaro giant. In the afternoon, there is the opportunity to meet renowned elephant expert, Dr Alfred Kikoti, or a key member of his research team and find out about the crucial work they undertake to protect elephant migratory corridors in the area. Overnight at Kambi ya Tembo (B,L,D).
Day 3: Drive from West Kilimanjaro to the Ngorongoro Conservation area stopping for lunch to view the magnificent crater from its rim. Continue travelling West on the road to Serengeti and then North into the fabulously remote Gol Mountains afriving at The Bush Rover, your unique private camp. (L,D)
Days 4 & 5: Over the next two full days there is the chance to explore what feels like “the land that time forgot”. With the onset of the rains in December, the Gol Mountains are transformed from a dry and desolate moonscape to a vibrant rich animal-scape. The migration is likely to move in and out of the area during this period, descending on mammalian mass after each burst of rain. Safaris by vehicle and on foot with Maasai offer an intimate and exclusive look at this wild land and it’s seasonally magnificent wildlife. Here you can sit on large Kopjes (rocky outcrops) high above the plain below, and marvel at the rich vista filled with Wildebeest, Zebra and Maasai moving their livestock between the vast herds. Here there is a harmony between man and beast, borne from centuries of respect and understanding. You can expect to see no other vehicle or visitor whilst in the area and experience an intimacy with nature never to be forgotten. Our unique Bush Rovers are simply the greatest innovation in mobile camping for decades. They offer great comfort, superb vantage points, great mobility, and the style only a Land Rover can bring to a safari situation. Overnight in The Bush Rover.(B,L,D)
Day 6: Heading West into the Serengeti, the tour moves into the greatest wildlife destination on the planet. Although the area will not be as exclusively remote as all the other elements of this wonderful tour, our private safari camp is tucked away from the busier routes in an area which is filled with a magnificent diversity of wildlife all year round. We can expect to see all the big cats and much of the time without other vehicles. Overnight in The Bush Rover in West central Serengeti (B,L,D)
Day 7: A full day to indulge the wonderful wildlife around your private camp. Overnight in The Safari Butterfly in West central Serengeti (B,L,D)
Day 8: After breakfast, cross the Western Corridor of Serengeti by car, and then head South to Mwanza. Overnight at Tilapia Hotel or similar (B).

Relax in the afternoon game viewing from your Land Rover Suite or the Roof of Saadani tower at the centre of Bab’s camp. Overnight at Bab’s camp (B,L,D).

Returning for a late lunch in the Roof of Saadani, the afternoon is yours to relax and see what passes over the sands of the salt flats. Overnight at Bab’s camp (B,L,D)
Day 12: The unique position of Babs Camp is highlighted as we take an early morning foot safari looking for big game across the salt flats, climb into a canoe for a gentle birding safari through the mangroves, change to our sea boat at the turtle breeding beach (which may afford us the chance to stop and watch hatchlings enter the sea dependant on time of year), and cruise out to the Mafui sandbank for breakfast and a snorkel on the reef. From here the boat takes us to our sister camp “Simply Saadani” for a lecture on the environmental work undertaken from our research centre, lunch by the beach, and a game drive back to Bab’s camp passing through Saadani National Park (B,L,D).
